A Free Psychic Reading???

Some readers operate just by sitting with you and telling you what they see and feel. This is very effective with pure mediumship, but for looking into the future most psychics will use one of the well known methods such as Astrology, Tarot etc. However, each of these methods has its own strengths and weaknesses, and some are more suited to telephone work than others Here is an alphabetical guide to the most commonly used techniques:

ASTROLOGY
Many pure astrologers will try to distance themselves from clairvoyance, and will tell you that astrology is essentially about character analysis. Personally I think that this is a pity, because as I see it, who you are is intimately related to your past, present and future, and that the character analysis is only the spring-board of a full astrological reading. Astrology uses the positions of all the planets when you were born as a method to read you and your future, and then uses their subsequent movements to be able to tell you when these events are likely to occur. A very good method to use when working on the telephone as the chart is able tell an astrologer a great deal about the client. Also virtually all modern Astrologers use computers in order to calculate the positions and movements of the planets. However, you need to be very wary of anyone who appears to be reading a text. Computers are brilliant number-crunchers, but are useless at anything but a very basic (and usually generalised and meaningless) interpretation. A genuine Astrological reading is very specific to you as an individual, and can only be given by using the skills and training of the experienced Astrologer.
STRENGTHS: Who you are, your potential future and when life changes will occur. Also very good at analysing relationships!
WEAKNESS: What is going on at the moment

CARD READINGS (including the Tarot):
The commonest readings use either the 78 card Tarot pack or the 52 traditional playing cards. In either case, each of the cards has a range of meanings and associated symbols, and the way the cards appear in the layout set clairvoyant images racing through the reader’s mind. Although there are some basic principles involved. in practice each reader will have their own methods and understanding of the cards. Take one Tarot card round to six different Tarot readers and you’ll probably get ten different answers as to it’s meaning! However this is also a very good method of giving telephone readings, as the cards help the reader to tune their psychic ability into the client This type of card reading is actually very effective as it allows for a great deal of flexibility. the way they fall in the layout affects the interpretation. These cards are not common, but if used correctly are extraordinarily accurate Another frequently used pack are known as the Psi Cards. These have a more limited range of images, but in the right hands are also capable of reaching a deep insight into your life. Then there are other, lesser known packs. Some of these are good, and work with deep inner energies, and some are basically modern do-it-yourself fortune telling kits. Good packs simply use plenty of symbols and images, bad packs add words. Card reading is about understanding the symbolic language of the psychic world, and this is pictorial. Words are a problem.
STRENGTHS: Very good at indicating what is happening now
WEAKNESSES: Can be difficult for the reader to rise above the emotions of  the moment.

CLAIRVOYANCE:
The Literal meaning of the word is "Clear Seeing". This can be used in two ways. Firstly it can mean clearly seeing the spirit world. A "Clairvoyant" in that sense will actually see into the "Other Side" and be able to describe to you accurate details of people who have passed over. Alternatively, most of us use the term to describe the ability to "clearly see" into the future. As long as you understand that the word has two slightly different meanings there is no problem! Pure clairvoyance needs no "props", ie cards etc -but with telephone clients it can take longer to establish a link

CRYSTALS:
Crystal reading is recorded in Ancient Egypt. You are asked to pick out a selection of stones, and lay them on a cloth. Each crystal has a particular meaning based on it’s colour and inner structure, and in some mysterious way you will find yourself drawn towards those stones which will reflect your life as it is and as it will be. The reader can then interpret this for you. Not really possible over the phone.
STRENGTHS: Your hidden character, and future potential
WEAKNESSES: When events are likely to occur

CRYSTAL BALL:
First I need to explode the myth -the size of a reader’s balls are not important! Big ones are certainly more impressive, but ultimately it is the reader’s skill at “scrying”, ie looking into the ball that matters. Although historically the ball would have been carved and polished out of a block of solid rock crystal, in practice these are very expensive  to buy and most modern ones are made from glass (which is of course cheaper). Technically any suitable surface, including water, can be used, but most clients prefer to see a traditional “Crystal Ball”! Sxrying is an excellent telephone technique! With true crystal gazing, the crystal first appears to cloud over and then images will physically appear to the clairvoyant. However, this is very, very energy consuming and the reader will almost certainly be exhausted after even a short session. In everyday practice the ball is used as a psychic link between the reader and the sitter and the images that appear are in the subconscious mind of the clairvoyant.
STRENGTHS: Visual images of the past present and future
WEAKNESSES: Knowing when these images are likely to occur

I CHING
A very ancient Chinese style of divination, based on the concept of opposites (Yin and Yang) and the way these balance, and then change. Not very often met in this country, but if used correctly can be very accurate in finding the unusual or unexpected change. The I Ching is actually a book, (the name means ‘The Book of Change’ ), and the reading is done by using Yarrow sticks, coins or (less accurately) cards. A bit long and complicated for using over the phone
STRENGTHS Acts like a very independent counsellor, and cannot be influenced by the reader’s opinions
WEAKNESSES Tends to speak in Chinese riddles, and will always favour maintaining the status quo!

NUMEROLOGY
The science of numbers. These can be taken from your date of birth, or from your name. (Each letter of the alphabet has a different number, depending on the system used.) These are added together to give a ruling number, and this will reveal many things about you to a competent numerologist. If the reader is a good numerologist and can perform the calculations very quickly, this is again a very good telephone technique
STRENGTHS A well defined interpretative system
WEAKNESSES Not very specific about the future, and easily degenerates into giving you your “Lucky Numbers”. (Note. If clairvoyants were any good at picking ‘Lucky Numbers’ we’d all have won the lottery and left the country years ago!)

PALMISTRY:
Obviously not possible over the telephone, so this section is included for interest only.
There are two types of palmistry. Psychic palmistry, and cheirology. With psychic palmistry the reader will look at your hand and using the main lines as a guideline only will make a personal psychic link from which you are given your reading. This is very easy to fake!!!
With Cheirology, the reader will need to examine every line, however minor, and will probably use a magnifying glass, or even take a print of your palm (exactly in the same way that you take a finger-print, only larger!). He or she will then give you a detailed analysis of every possible aspect of your life, but as with astrology be careful not to be blinded with science.
STRENGTHS: Seeing you as you are now, your past and the short term future.
WEAKNESS: True potential, and long term future.

PSYCHOMETRY:
This is when the reader asks you for a personal object (ie an item of jewellery) and uses it to make a psychic link. Like palmistry, this skill cannot be used over the telephone!
STRENGTHS: Can be very effective at breaking down barriers. Can also be a very good way to reach out to a third party.
WEAKNESSES: Can vary tremendously in effectiveness according to the reader’s current state of mind, health etc.

RUNES:
A very ancient and very powerful alphabet. Each rune has a name, an image and it’s own ability to influence. No-one messes with the runes! They are used in a similar way to the Tarot -but they give much more blunt answers. Just like Tarot, works very well over the phone
STRENGTHS: Very blunt and down to earth
WEAKNESSES: Not very subtle

Psychic Skills (& Definitions)
A few working definitions:

A READER
A very useful general term, frequently used to mean anyone
who gives “readings”, without having to be specific as to the
method used.

A PSYCHIC
We all have “psychic” ability. It is the natural sensitivity with which we understand the emotions of children, animals, and hopefully our nearest and dearest. Much of this is done through telepathy. An experienced Psychic is able to extend this to everyone he or she meets, but this does not necessarily mean that they are clairvoyant.

A CLAIRVOYANT
Literally “One who sees clearly”. This word has two meanings. Firstly, it can mean someone who can physically see the spirit world, just as a clairaudient is someone who hears it. These abilities are part of mediumship. For the purposes of this web site, we use the word to mean someone who sees clearly into the future.

A SEER/SEERESS
A slightly more mystical name for a clairvoyant

A MEDIUM
Mediumship is a very specific term. It describes the ability to act as a bridge between this world and the “other side”, and a true medium simply acts as a channel by which individuals who have died are able to give messages to people still on this physical plane.

All mediums and clairvoyants are “psychic”. But not all “psychics” are either clairvoyant, or a medium.
Not all clairvoyants are mediums.
And not all mediums are clairvoyant.
